Milwalky Trace

Located on Milwaukee Avenue in the heart of downtown Libertyville, Milwalky Trace serves up fresh seasonal fare with expert rustic plating.

The restaurant is the first for Chef/Owner Lee Kuebler, a Lake County native. The restaurant name pays tribute to Libertyville’s past. Milwaukee Avenue is located on an old American Indian trail that led from Chicago to Milwaukee. Maps from the 1800s marked this trail as Milwalky Trace.

The design intent for Milwalky Trace was to create an intimate space where diners could gather to eat unique creations and be part of a shared experience. The sophisticated urban space mixes an open loft-like design with intimate seating for just 48 diners.

The dark hickory stained floors and exposed original brick add warmth and character. The open kitchen and chef’s counter seating provides unique access to the people and process behind the food.

Oversized garage-style doors provide the al-fresco dining experience and keep the space usable year-round. Outdoor patio seats an additional 20 patrons.
