Worlds of Fun Entrance Gate

Worlds of Fun in Kansas City recently unveiled new rides and a new entrance gate to much fanfare. The entrance gate provides an improved experience for guests and a fresh, new introduction to the park. Plan to pause outside the gate to snap a photo with your family. A colorful new hot air balloon structure provides the perfect backdrop for your first social media image of the day.

Plan a visit to Worlds of Fun to enjoy what’s new. Fun ride additions include Mustang Runner and Falcon’s Flight, found in the new International Plaza area. You’ll want to return when the weather turns cool for Worlds of Fun’s Winterfest, a festive new holiday tradition.

Entrance Gate

When you visit the park this summer, enter at the new front entrance which leads to the all-new “International Plaza”. The entrance gate’s design was inspired by European architecture that followed the industrial revolution. We took cues from London’s Billingsgate Market, designed in the Italianate style in 1875 by City architect Sir Horace Jones.

The structure was prefabricated locally, saving construction time and eliminating the uncertainties of weather. Steel, glass, and stucco make up the exterior of the building which was shipped to the park and assembled on site.

Reviews have been very positive, and we think the Unwof blog said it best: “The new gate is beautiful, well designed, and well-laid out, and most importantly, does absolute justice to what the park could be as a whole. I have to go so far as to make a comment I never in my wildest dreams thought I would say. I think I like it better than the original, beloved, Americana gate.”
