Six Flags Delivers a Thrilling Ride Experience in 2016
Six Flags has announced exciting new attractions and ride experiences for 2016. Every park in the company’s line-up will be getting something new. Whether you enjoy screaming-fast roller coasters, immersive ride environments, or scaled-down fun for little ones, there’s something for everyone at Six Flags parks in 2016.
Six Flags’ Commitment to New Ride Experiences
Each year, Six Flags puts 9% of its annual revenue back into its parks for new rides and attractions, according to an article in USA Today. The company is committed to offering unique, new ride experiences that “attract attention and get people excited.”
Ride Development and Integration is a Collaborative Effort
Ride development and integration into the theme parks is a collaborative endeavor between the team at Six Flags, ride and car manufacturers, theming companies, and architects. Ride selection takes into consideration the park’s location and climate as well as considering the physical space available to accommodate the attraction. Our role is to integrate the ride into the fabric of the physical location and to weave the attraction’s theme through all elements of the ride experience, from the entrance marquee to the ride station and exit.
Great Ride Experiences are Replicated
Ride experiences that achieve success at one park may be replicated at other parks, with modifications appropriate to each new location. This year, Justice League: Battle for Metropolis, a successful attraction at Six Flags Over Texas and Six Flags St. Louis, will be replicated at locations in Chicago and Mexico City.
Justice League: Battle for Metropolis at Six Flags Great America
Designed and manufactured by Sally Corporation, the interactive, motion-based dark ride features “a mix of state-of-the-art animatronics and 3D video technology, together with numerous special effects.” In the ride, park guests’ mission is to find the Justice League and free them from The Joker and Lex Luthor in a “battle to save the city from complete havoc.” Guests ride in 8 six-passenger vehicles, designed and manufactured by Oceaneering, along 524 linear feet of track inside a dark 23,000 s.f. building.
Be sure to experience this fantastic new ride experience at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, IL! The park opens the weekend of April 23 & 24. What else is new for 2016 at Great America?
