Milwalky Taco is the second restaurant for local chef and owner Lee Kuebler. Following up on the success of Milwalky Trace, Kuebler set his sights on opening a taqueria that is as much about the food as it is about the experience.
Milwalky Taco serves up handmade tortillas bursting with fresh vegetables and tender meats, house-made salsas, and signature handcrafted cocktails.
The design intent for the restaurant was to showcase the people and process behind the food with an open kitchen design. Diners who come to enjoy great tasting food are treated to the drama and excitement that comes with the artistry of cooking.
Four distinct areas offer a variety of dining options. From the Milwaukee Avenue entrance, the narrow galley-style layout is divided into two areas: the bar and open kitchen with counter-top seating on one side and dining tables along the exposed brick walls on the other side.
In the center of the restaurant, the private 24-seat dining room (shared space with Milwalky Trace) is styled in what we like to call Mexican hipster. The focal point…two ornate steel wine storage lockers. Warmed with weathered wood floors and wooden wine barrel stave chandeliers, the dining room is the perfect venue for a private celebration.
The back dining room seats another 40 guests at upcycled spooled tables. Both front and back-dining rooms feature oversized garage-style doors to provide al-fresco style dining while keeping the space usable year-round.
For those who like to dine and enjoy the sights and sounds of summer, a beautiful, dog-friendly outdoor patio offers shaded seating for an additional 28 patrons.
