Superman: Ultimate Flight was the first flying roller coaster in which passengers ride parallel with the track. The coaster, designed by Bollinger & Mabillard and themed by Bleck & Bleck has an overhead track that loops many times and riders are suspended below the track in a horizontal “Superman” riding position. The entrance to the ride is through a Superman-themed red, blue & yellow portal and into a large metal roofed structure at the end of the ride to funnel the riders past retail options including DC Comic souvenirs and candid photos of screaming roller coaster passengers.
