Amusement Parks Provide Great Entertainment Value
Do you count yourself among the many millions of amusement park fans? Us too!
Today’s amusement parks provide great entertainment value and a unique venue for having fun with family and friends.
This was the focus of the keynote address this morning at the International Association of Amusement Parks & Attractions Expo in Orlando. Jim Reid-Anderson, Chairman, and CEO of Six Flags Entertainment Corporation spoke enthusiastically about the future of the industry and its value to guests, employees, and investors.
His optimism about the future of the amusement park industry is due primarily to the following:
- The industry has a natural resistance to recessionary forces, due to their relatively low cost for day-vacationing and their prime locations near large population centers.
- There is a high cost of entry for new players in the industry, limiting competition.
Reid-Anderson also spoke about the success of Six Flags under his leadership, which continues to demonstrate positive results in attendance and revenues since emerging from bankruptcy in 2010.
He used the term SCORE to describe the success oriented focus of the company in which SCORE stands for Strategy, Communication, Organization, Rewards, and Execution, all of which contributed to the company’s successful business results.
Speaking to FUNWORLD magazine about his love for the amusement park industry, Reid-Anderson said: “When your primary focus is helping others to build memories with their families and friends, you create teamwork and a family-like atmosphere that is unlike any other industry I have worked in.”
We have to agree!
